about INTERFOB
What is Interfob?
The name INTERFOB is derived from “INTERnational FOrmation du Bois.” First held in 1989 in Epinal, France, it is an annual meeting of over 150 European students in the field of forestry and wood technology, taking place in a different European country each year. The goal of Interfob is to provide students with the opportunity to exchange experiences, information, and contacts, both among the participating universities and between the respective cooperation partners in the forestry and wood industries.
The five-day event is organized each year entirely by students from the universities of the host country. In 2025 students from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, and the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg organise the Interfob which will be held in Velden, Austria.
Let’s experience an unforgettable week filled with knowledge, inspiration, and good vibes together. Team Austria looks forward to welcoming you to INTERFOB 2025!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the programm?
The programm of Interfobs is always quite the same. The arrival is on Sunday and is self-organised by each team. During the week, the participating universities will introduce themselves, craft workshops and team-building activities await you. In addition, companies from the regional timber industry will be visited in the form of excursions. The evening program usually includes an international evening, a theme party and a gala dinner to round off the week.
How is it organized?
In most universities the groups of usually 10 attending students are organized by student associations or student councils. Each university provides a team leader, who is responsible for the organization and the forwarding of information in his group and is the contact person for the hosting universities.
